Breakfast was quiet this morning. There was a feeling of heavy-heartedness as we waved goodbye to the mountains after possibly the best ISSSC event of memory, and climbed aboard transfers back to Geneva.
We had snow, we had sun, we had two days of racing and what good days they were. Off-Piste guided by instructors, bowling, quizzes, talks (and pizza night!). We had it all, and took full advantage. An activity packed week was enjoyed by all and not a student, teacher or event staff could wipe the smiles off their face on Day 6. The giant slalom was hugely successful, with over 350 racers competing across two courses.
The teams were then treated with a scenic ski down the mountain, surrounded by rose-tinted jagged peaks, before settling in for prize giving.
Thankyou again to everyone involved in the production of this fantastic event. It is a highlight of the year for all and so much hard work goes in behind the scenes. Special thanks to Event Coordinator Lisa Kingston, General Manager Guillaume and of course Event Director Linley Lewis. This is the last year of the event being under TTR management and it’s been an incredible journey, growing the ISSSC from 70 competitors to almost 400. We wish the best to Halsbury Travel, who will be running the even going forward, with the support of Planks Clothing and MPI Brokers.
