Day one in the idyllic Les Deux Alpes has been what ski dreams are made of! Students awoke to find a foot of fresh snow had fallen overnight, and the initial foggy conditions did nothing to dampen their spirits as they breezed through breakfast and assembled to meet their instructors for the first time. By mid-morning the low-hanging clouds had made way for a clear and bright afternoon.

Snowfall has been epic all over Europe so far this season, and the 100 hectares of skiable runs Les Deux Alpes boasts have been no exception. Students will have the opportunity to take on all manner of terrain and conditions this week, from blasting through fresh powder to tackling the occasional mogul field, as well as training tailored to ski racing provided by ESF, ESI and Impulse ski coaches.

After a full-on first day on the hill, students returned to dinner just as yet more snow began dusting L2A. Dinner was followed by either bowling, pub quizzing, or a presentation on either mountain safety or insider info on what it takes to become a fully qualified ski instructor – evening activities that all groups will have the chance to get stuck into as the week goes on.

We’ll leave you a couple of shots below and a taster of what’s to come, on what is shaping up to be an unforgettable week in the mountains!
